How we work

Law now

Personal and transparent

We like to make our profession as accessible as possible for our clients. You stick to what you are good at; we take the hassle off your shoulders. The small size of our firm means that we treat your case personally – no long memos, no handing over to ‘the next junior associate’.

Short lines

Modern communication

Digital security is becoming increasingly important. If the client is open to it, we prefer to use all possibilities of Microsoft Sharepoint and Microsoft Teams. This ensures that all information is as secure as possible and that all correspondence and documents can be viewed at any time until the file is closed.

Your money; your bank account

No third-party account

Our firm does not receive any third-party monies within the meaning of the Dutch Legal Profession Bye-Law. We are therefore exempt from the obligation to have a third-party funds foundation available. If we are nevertheless confronted with third-party monies, we ensure that the monies are either transferred directly to the entitled party in accordance with article 6.19, paragraph 1 of the Dutch Legal Profession Bye-Lawe, or that we join a third-party funds foundation (and have the monies channelled through this foundation). All rules concerning third-party monies are then applicable. Under no circumstances do we receive third-party monies in the office account.

Member of IR Global

Internationally rooted

Our clients come from The Netherlands and abroad. In 2023, we joined the international network IR Global, allowing us to better serve our Dutch clients abroad and help our international clients find their way in the Netherlands.

No catches

Transparent fees and conditions

Bos Law assists both entrepreneurs and private individuals.

Our standard hourly rate for entrepreneurs is € 280 excluding VAT. Our fees may be slightly higher for urgent or highly specialised cases; for start-ups (less than 3 years of existence and turnover below € 500,000/year) our fees are 16% lower. We do not charge office expenses, as many other lawyers do. In many cases we are prepared to make a fixed price agreement.

Private individuals can be assisted on the basis of subsided legal aid or an hourly fee. If you are eligible for subsided legal aid, we will apply for it for you. You will have to pay a personal contribution, the amount of which depends on your income. You also have to pay (reduced) court fees and other procedural costs. If you are not eligible for subsided legal aid, we will charge our fees based on the number of hours spent on your case. In cases we deem highly special, we may apply the subsidised legal aid rate (€ 126.55 excluding VAT in 2024) even in a situation where there is no entitlement to subsidised legal aid.

You can obtain information about our services at the office address given at the bottom of this page. A complaint about our services can be submitted in the manner described in our complaints procedure, the link of which is at the bottom of this page.

Our professional liability insurance is taken out with J&B Advocaten 2009 and Zurich Insurance plc, Dutch branch. The insurer can be contacted through intermediary Aon Risk Solutions at the following address: Aon Risk Solutions, Admiraliteitskade 62, 3063 ED Rotterdam, telephone number: +31 (0)10 448 89 11 and email aonPS@aon.nl. The insurance has worldwide coverage. However, it does not cover claims instituted against insureds under or subject to the laws of the United States of America and/or Canada and/or tried there. Also excluded is the enforcement of judgments rendered by judges in the United States of America or Canada.
